ReGen Buipe
ReGen Buipe, Our Planet Our Future’s first Project in Ghana, aims to restore approximately 85,000 hectares of degraded Savannah woodland to sequester atmospheric carbon, restore ecosystem services, and improve community livelihoods.
ReGen Mwenda Chiefdom
In 2025 Our Planet Our Future signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Zambia and Caritas Zambia. ReGen Mwenda Chiefdom, Our Planet Our Future’s first Project in Zambia, is being designed to turn restoration into reality across 90,000 hectares of land.
ReGen Madagascar
ReGen Madagascar is a Regeneration Development Project originated by Our Planet Our Future across 50,000 hectares of degraded land in the Ambalavao District of Madagascar, in partnership with the University of Fianarantsoa and 19 participating communes.
Our Planet Our Future
The Our Planet Our Future organization was established in The Netherlands in 2021 to engage the Faiths and Traditional Leaders, in close association with Civil Society, Government, and Business, to address the intertwined crises of climate and poverty.
Our Planet Our Future originates high-impact and high-integrity Regeneration Development Projects in Africa that use Nature-Based Solutions (reforestation, agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, and regenerative rangeland management) to sequester carbon, generate carbon credits, and benefit local communities.
Our Planet Our Future’s collaborative model for Regeneration Development is transparent, replicable, scalable, capital efficient, and profitable. Using this model, projects in Ghana, Zambia, and Madagascar with a total of approximately 250,000 hectares of land have already been originated.
Given the clear trend towards nature-positive investing, Our Planet Our Future’s approach to Regeneration Development puts it in position to play a pivotal role in advancing and benefiting from the expected scaling of nature-positive investments.
Our Planet Our Future International Team
Paul van Engen is a former journalist and the Founder and Chair of the Right Now! Foundation. Since 2015, he has been connecting the network of the Catholic Church with social entrepreneurs and impact investors.
This work resulted in the formation of Our Planet Our Future, with a focus on Regeneration Development in Africa. Currently, he is the CEO of Our Planet Our Future.

Rahoul Mehra assists and leads opportunities that have positive climate, environmental and social impacts and benefits. With more than 30 years of experience as a serial entrepreneur, advisor, and investor, he adds invaluable insight from the perspective of Fortune 500 companies, while understanding the unique needs of a startup.
Rahoul is Chief Development Officer for Our Planet Our Future and also creator and producer of the impact focused investment and web series “Right to Invest”. He is also the Co-founder of Sincosa, one of the first public benefit corporations in the spirits industry.

James Hurd Nixon is a long-time leader in the fields of impact investment and sustainable economic development.
James is Co-Founder and Principal of Sustainable Systems and author of Sustainable Economic Development: Initiatives, Programs, and Strategies for Cities and Regions, the first policy framework integrating sustainability and economic development best practices. He serves as Chief Strategy Officer for Our Planet Our Future.
