ReGen Mwenda Chiefdom
In 2025 Our Planet Our Future signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Zambia and Caritas Zambia. The scope of the MOU is for the three parties to collaborate on the feasibility and design of several initial Projects that will be part of a bigger plan to regenerate degraded and neglected forests in Zambia, achieving important benefits for planet and people.
ReGen Mwenda Chiefdom, Our Planet Our Future’s first Project in Zambia, is being designed to turn restoration into reality across 90,000 hectares of land. ReGen Mwenda Chiefdom will advance through the wisdom and dedication of a Project Team of local custodians that is being assembled. These professionals, rooted in the Mwenda Chiefdom, will guide the Project’s implementation.
The Project Team will bring together traditional knowledge, field experience, and technical skill to ensure that regeneration is both practical and lasting. Working hand in hand with the Chiefdom, Caritas Zambia, and the Ministry of Environment and Green Economy, they will safeguard the balance between people, forests, and livelihoods.
